Technical and Information Services Computer Labs and Classrooms

The following is an updated list of the computers and printers that Technical and Information Services supports. When these resources are not being used for scheduled classes, they are available for general use. This listing is subject to daily modifications.

Login ids are not required to use the resources on the computers in the PC classrooms, unless you wish to access the files in your Unix student directory. The PCs display a login prompt with the username of: Student. You should log in with the username of Student which requires no password. A second login prompt will appear on a black screen. If you want to access your Unix files, then use your network username and password at this second prompt. This will map your Unix directory as drive H. If you do not want to access your Unix files, you may close the window. Be sure to logout when you are finished.

Please note: Tech Services is not responsible for any loss of data, damage, or liability that may occur from use of the computers at Rensselaer at Hartford. Although we do take precautions against computer viruses with current virus checking technologies, we cannot guarantee clean systems at all times since no anti-virus system is 100% reliable. We strongly recommend that you write protect your diskettes and use virus-checking on your own computers.
