Rensselaer Introduces New Lean Six Sigma Certificate Program

HARTFORD, CONN – On June 17, 2010, the Hartford, Connecticut Campus of Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute is launching a new Lean Six Sigma Certificate Program. Incorporating feedback attained during executive roundtable forums, the program will be project/outcome driven.

From an ROI perspective, participants from cross-functional areas bring a project to the program that can yield over $100,000 in annualized savings. Sending multiple members from a company who can work on a project together can yield larger gains during and after the training.

Leadership will be an integral part of the program, and an enhanced understanding of how to lead a project is among the expected outcomes. The program will include nine days of seminars (one day per month over 9 months), on-site consulting, and one-on-one coaching.

The seminars are designed to help local corporations and organizations successfully implement improvements in key business processes. A Green Belt will be awarded to successful participants.

For more information and to register for the program, please visit: http://www.ewp.rpi.edu/academics/professional_development/leansixsigma/index.html, or contact Clarence Byers, Senior Program Manager, at 860-548-2479 or e-mail: byersc@rpi.edu.

The Lean Six Sigma Program is offered through Rensselaer’s Centers for Professional Development as a service designed to help companies and individuals understand and define their developmental needs. These noncredit programs provide working professionals and organizations with the critical skills needed to be effective in today’s dynamic workplace.
