ABOUT THE LECTURE: Join us for this engaging and informative presentation about the part the United States plays in this economic recession. While the crisis has a large “Made in the U.S.A.” label, the world is still counting on the U.S. to find a solution. Major opportunities are being created with an unprecedented financial stimulus and infrastructure plans in China and the U.S. These reforms will not only change government, but they will also foster new technologies and new businesses in health care, insurance, and energy intensive industries. Professor Stodder will share his perspective and insights from his experience abroad teaching in Shanghai, China in the Rensselaer International Scholars Program.
Dr. Stodder’s areas of expertise include corporate and public finance, monetary economics, and the economics of developing and transitional countries. Much of his research is in problems of growth and inequality, corruption and public services, and the growth of virtual and parallel currencies.
