MS-MBA Modernization Seminar.
Dramatic changes in technology, international trade and operations, and business strategy have created a need to update business leaders in concepts and practices of the 21st Century. Rensselaer’s MS-MBA Modernization program is a week long education series specifically designed for experienced business leaders and managers who earned their MBA or MS in Management degrees in 2000 or before.
The program allows you – the seasoned management professional – to reinvigorate your advanced business degree with modern business knowledge and best practices that will drive organizational change, stimulate innovation and build your ability to compete in the current global business community.

The MS-MBA Modernization program is associated with Rensselaer’s Lally School of Management and Technology, which focuses on the intersection of management and technology, and is built on the conviction that the effective use of technology can enhance competitiveness. The mission of the Lally School is to develop technically sophisticated business leaders who are prepared to guide their organizations in the integration of technology for new products, new businesses, and new systems.

Audience Profile:
- Executive MS & MBA graduates and business executives with significant work experience are strongly encouraged to attend.
Schedule and format:
The MS-MBA Modernization program will be delivered in ½ day sessions, in the week-long format, covering topics focused on three specific content areas: Technology, Strategy & Policy, and Operations.
Modernization areas covered include:
Technology:
- Management strategies for complex projects with decentralized team members and stakeholders
- Advantages and implications of integrating new technology into your organization
- Best practices for information security in an increasingly transparent, Web 2.0 world
- Current trends in energy technology, energy conservation and “the green company”
Operations:
- Understanding the special nature of services to create ultimate value -exploring the discipline of “Service Science”
- Hidden costs and implications of out-sourcing and off-shoring (Creating supply networks that add REAL VALUE)
- The tension between Lean / Six Sigma and the innovation process
Strategy and Policy:
- Manage the nuances of evaluating strategic opportunities
- Uncover & evaluate opportunities in emerging markets
- Protecting intellectual property – the hard asset of the 21st Century
- Steering your organization toward uncontested market space.

Program Fee
Cost of attendance is $6000. Fee includes all instruction, materials, meals and events. Space will be limited, therefore those wishing to attend should inquire as soon as possible.
