Enterprise Management Culminating Project
The objective of the project component of the ISP is to provide students with a supervised hands-on experience that supplements the topics, methodologies, and concepts covered within their ISP courses. The project affords students the opportunity to situate their learning in a practical context and to bring together the various components of their learning experience into a cogent product. Readings and lectures at the beginning of the program will help prepare students for the project activities, which will include local guest speakers and site visits to various enterprises.
Students will perform the ISP research project in teams of about four. The project will take advantage of the program’s international venues in order to explore business practices in organizations with global reach. Each student team will be assigned a unique project, but the projects will be structured similarly. Students will gather and process information necessary to complete their projects based on a variety of sources, including scheduled site visits, informal contacts, invited guest speakers, and Rensselaer’s Cole Library that contains an extensive set of on-line reference databases.
