Academic instructor (engineering, graduate level) and Industrial Research Consultant for 25+ years. Visiting researcher, professor or lecturer (MIT; KTH -Sweden; CINVESTAV, UIA and UNAM, Mexico; Trinity College, Hartford). I have advised and closely mentored hundreds of graduate student projects and theses. I have also led or collaborated in tens of metal processing innovation research and development projects with industrial partners. Scholarship
Mathematical modeling and computer simulation of metals processing and manufacturing systems, especially problems with free and moving boundaries. Teaching
Classical and computational thermomechanics of solid and liquid materials; science and engineering of metallic materials - structure, processing properties and performance; tribology; reliability; clean technologies; advanced mathematics for engineering applications; numerical computing; mathematical modeling and computer simulation of deterministic and stochastic engineering systems.
