Follow-Up
Programs
Keep the learning alive with programs for
you or your organization
Overview
After you have completed a Center for Creative Leadership
(CCL)® program, you may ask "What's next?" Since
development is an ongoing process and not a single event,
Rensselaer offers follow-on programs that are designed to
build upon your recent CCL® experience. These programs
are described below.
RCPD Resources
As a Network Associate of The Center for
Creative Leadership (CCL ®), RCPD brings tremendous experience
and knowledge to any follow-up intervention we offer. The
same coaches that provide feedback during the programs are
part of our resources for these programs. This is one way
for us to provide the continuity with any program you might
take from Rensselaer. Our certification in the use of CCL
® instruments such as Benchmarks® or SKILLSCOPE®
provides a means for past participants to directly compare
multi-rater results from different administrations.
Development
Planning Sessions
Offered as a package of 1-4 sessions, Development Planning
Sessions build upon the 1-1 Feedback Session a participant
experienced as part of their CCL program. The goals of these
sessions are to further refine the development plan and to
develop specific strategies for implementing that plan.
Executive
Coaching
Executive Coaching is a 1-1 process that focuses on assessment,
challenge and support. It is often used by individuals to
assist them in:
- Developing specific skills
- Eliminating specific barriers to effectiveness
- Building their teams
- Handling difficult relationships
- Dealing with professional transitions
- Managing significant behavioral changes
Re-Administration
of Benchmarks® or SKILLSCOPE®
Rensselaer Centers for Corporate Development has at its disposal
a variet of multirater instruments. If you completed a CCL®
program, we can readminister Benchmarks® or SKILLSCOPE®
as a means of gauging your progress or to get feedback from
a new group. We might also recommend other multi-rater instruments
depending on the information you would like to get. However,
Rensselaer recommends waiting a minimum of six months after
completion of the CCL® program.
When these instruments are re-administered, Rensselaer staff
will attempt to reconnect you with your original Feedback
Coach from your feedback session. This session can be conducted
in person or over the telephone.
Developing
Your Team
After attending LDP or FOL, participants often believe
that certain aspects of the program may improve their entire
team's ability to work together. Based upon discussions about
the team's history and learning objectives, Rensselaer staff
may custom design a program to meet their needs. That program
may be held at Rensselaer or at another site.
Skill
Acquisition
As a result of the feedback data from LDP or FOL,
you may now be aware that you have some skill gaps. If this
is the case, please browse the rest of the Rensselaer web
site for current skill development course offerings.
Typical skills sought by LDP graduates include negotiation,
interpersonal effectiveness, strategic thinking and planning,
business for non-financial professionals, building and leading
teams, and listening skills.
Typical skills sought by FOL graduates include
conflict resolution, communication and influence, and teamwork.
Keeping the Energy Alive
Organizations that send five or more people to LDP
or FOL in a year often find it very helpful to have a year
end reunion. Among other benefits, this reunion often:
- Re-energizes the group
- Helps the group
become more supportive of one another
- Creates leadership synergy for the organization
Rensselaer will be happy to help you plan
and implement your reunion.
