| Network Orientation and Gnome Training Sessions for New
and Continuing Students
Technical and Information Services (TIS) offers the following training sessions:
- Rensselaer's Hartford campus (RAH) Network Orientation for New Users: The workshop
provides an overview of the RAH network and applications, login IDs and passwords,
dial-up access, PC classrooms, the Internet, and more. Highly recommended for all
new students.
- Introduction to Gnome on Sun Workstations - Hands-On Workshop for New Users:
Gnome is the graphical user interface for the Sun workstations. This
session demonstrates several Gnome tools and features. If you will be programming
on the Sun workstations, this session will save you time.
Students are encourages to attend both sessions. No sign up is necessary. Please refer to
the training schedule to be posted at: http://www.ewp.rpi.edu/hartford/tis/news
Groton students are encouraged to attend the Hartford training sessions, as sessions will be
conducted in Groton by appointment only. If you have any questions, please stop by the
