Licensing Exam Review Programs for Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors Offered at Rensselaer's Hartford Campus

HARTFORD, CONN - Rensselaer's Centers for Professional Development will offer a series of review courses to help prepare students for the standardized examinations for the Fundamentals in Engineering (EIT) Exam: Civil, Mechanical, Electrical Principles and Practices (PE) Exams, as well as the Land Surveyors Exam. Classes are scheduled to begin in late January and early February at the Rensselaer Hartford Campus. The Spring 2006 exam dates are April 21 and 22. Rensselaer has prepared over 2,000 engineers to pass the standardized examinations offered by the National Council of Examiners for Engineering and Surveying (NCEES).

Recent graduates and those who have been working in the field for a long time will benefit from structured courses carefully designed to cover all of the material on the examination. Experts in each of the specific engineering areas review and solve problems judged to be representative of the type and complexity encountered on the exam. Teams of practicing professional engineers and members of the engineering faculty at Rensselaer are selected to teach in their specific areas of expertise.

Students in the program review study tips and fundamental concepts. Courses are conducted face-to-face in relatively small class settings where students are encouraged to ask questions and clarify points not immediately understood. The course fee includes comprehensive guides that cover both background review topics and sample questions similar to those found on the exams. More information about the review program may be obtained by contacting Elaine Papanic, Rensselaer Hartford Campus, at (860) 548-2477; toll-free at (800) 433-4723, ext. 2477; or e-mail: cdp-info@rh.edu. The schedule of courses and online registration is available on the Web at: www.rh.edu/pdp/pe.

The PE Part II and LS Review programs are approved for VA benefits.
