Rensselaer Journal of Management and Technology Published

HARTFORD, CONN – The faculty of the Hartford Department of the Lally School of Management and Technology, Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, have developed and published a new journal. The Rensselaer Journal of Management and Technology, Volume I, Number 1, December 2004, has been published and was distributed at a free leadership seminar last month, sponsored by the Lally School. The journal will be available as part of Rensselaer’s ongoing leadership seminar series.

The inaugural issue focuses on “Strategic Thinking and Leading Change.” David L. Rainey, Ph.D., professor of management and the Chair of the Hartford Department of the Lally School of Management and Technology at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, serves as editor of the journal. The managing editor is Richard R. Paton, Director of Marketing and Business Development, Education for Working Professionals, Rensselaer.

Dr. Rainey introduces the journal in the “Editor’s Comments” stating, “Strategic thinking, leading change, and business integration are among the hottest topics in the corporate world. This journal is dedicated to enriching the intellectual contributions about the theoretical and practical solutions for managing complex businesses in the global business environment in the 21st century. The global business environment is changing at a tremendous speed and it is becoming more dynamic and exciting as new systems, technologies, and products replace obsolete approaches of the last century.”

Contributing authors and their featured articles in the December issue of the journal include Dr. Rainey, “Sustainable Business Development: Leading Change through Enterprise Thinking and Executive Leadership;” Robert R. Albright, Ph.D., “Managing Corporate Culture: An Essential Leadership Competency;” and Randall G. Peteros, J.D., “Building and Sustaining Enterprise Wealth: Corporate Investment Strategies.” Dr. Albright is an associate professor of management, and Mr. Peteros is an assistant professor of finance in the Hartford Department of the Lally School of Management and Technology at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.
