Events FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE August 20, 2004 Contact: Robin Micket (860) 548-7894 Dick Paton Named Director of Marketing and Business Development Dick Paton HARTFORD, CONN - Richard R. “Dick” Paton was appointed Director of Marketing and Business Development, Education for Working Professionals (EWP), Rensselaer at Hartford. He has over thirty years of experience in a variety of industries including insurance and financial services, health care, gaming and entertainment as well as consulting. Paton has held senior leadership positions throughout his career in risk management. Most recently he was the Senior Vice President, International Business Development and Enterprise Risk Management at the Phoenix Companies (NYSE) in Hartford. Paton also led a consulting group, Coventry Consulting, LLC in Hartford and London. He has served on the board of directors of several international financial services and software companies around the world. In his new position, Paton will be responsible for directing all marketing activities associated with EWP at both the Hartford, CT and Troy, NY campuses. Paton is a Rensselaer alumnus having earned an M.B.A. and an M.S. in Engineering Science from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. He has also taught in the Hartford department of Rensselaer's Lally School of Management and Technology as an adjunct faculty member. Paton received his Bachelor of Science degree in Marine Engineering from the Maine Maritime Academy. He also served as a member of the Coast Guard Reserve and held the senior ranking position of Reserve Group Commander, Long Island Sound Group.
