Rensselaer Professor Appointed Editor of Two Computer Publications

HARTFORD, CONN – Houman Younessi, Ph.D., Professor, Department of Engineering and Science, Rensselaer at Hartford, was appointed Category Editor for the ACM Computing Reviews. Dr. Younessi was also named the Editor-in-Chief of Advice: the Journal of Aspect Orientation. This journal is an international venue for publication of research in Aspect Orientation, a new and powerful paradigm in software engineering.

Professor Younessi’s (www.ewp.rpi.edu/hartford/~houman/) areas of expertise include: object and component technology, Aspect Orientation and Aspect Oriented Programming (AOP), software (development) process, defect management and software engineering empirical research. He is the Director of the Rensselaer Initiative in Software Engineering (www.rise-web.org) and a member of the OPEN Consortium (www.open.org.au) as well as several professional societies. Dr. Younessi was recently awarded a grant coordinated through the Office of Research at the Troy campus of Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute for his proposal entitled, "Towards the Development of a Robust but Highly Efficient Software Process for the Internet Age." He has over fifty publications including three books, the most recent of which, Object-Oriented Defect Management of Software, was published in 2002. He has presented papers on all six of the inhabited continents and is on the advisory committees of many organizations.
