Rensselaer at Hartford Sponsors “Art in the Hall” Exhibit Featuring Connecticut Artists Showing a Variety of Media

HARTFORD, CONN - Rensselaer at Hartford is expanding its “communiversity” ties by sponsoring the “Art in the Hall” exhibit of 35 works of art from five Connecticut artists. The exhibit will be on Levels 2 and 3 of the tower building of the Hartford campus, located at 275 Windsor Street. The exhibit begins with an opening reception on Friday, November 5, and will run through the end of December 2004.

The art to be shown includes photography, illustration and bodypainting, sculpture, and a variety of abstract work. Local artists featured in this exhibit are: Mark J. Chmielewski (www.mjcimaging.com), Andrew Fotta, Joseph R. Gorneault, Jr., Ruth Kristoff (www.ruthkristoff.com), and Steven Soklin. All of the artwork on display will be available for purchase.

The exhibit and the opening reception are free and open to the public. The program for the opening reception on Friday, November 5, will be held from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. in Room 330 at Rensselaer at Hartford, and will feature light hors d'oeuvres, guest speakers, live community-based entertainment, and the opportunity to meet the artists. The opening reception will also serve as a United Way of the Capital Area fundraiser with donations of support gladly accepted.

The exhibit will be on view during normal building hours: Monday - Friday, 7 a.m. - 11 p.m.; Saturday, 7 a.m. - 6 p.m.; and Sunday, 11 a.m. - 6 p.m. Hours may vary during holiday periods and in the event of inclement weather.
