Rensselaer Alumni Association Hartford Chapter Elects Officers

HARTFORD, CONN – The Hartford Chapter of the Rensselaer Alumni Association (RAA) of Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute recently elected new chapter leadership to serve one-year terms. Several officers hold two degrees from Rensselaer, and some members of the leadership team earned degrees at both the main campus in Troy, New York and at Rensselaer at Hartford.

The Hartford Chapter Leadership for the Fiscal Year 2003-2004 is as follows:

  • President: Beth Fabian of West Hartford (’00 B.S. Environmental Engineering), currently working toward an M.S. in Management at Rensselaer at Hartford. Employed as Staff Engineer, The Metropolitan District.
  • Treasurer: Anthony DeMarco of Manchester (’72 M.S. Engineering Management). Recently retired from Pratt & Whitney as Manager, Independent Research and Development and is now pursuing a supplemental career as a Financial Services Representative with Primerica Financial Services.
  • Programs & Events Committee: Amy Green of East Hampton (’98 B.S. Mechanical Engineering, ’00 M.S. Mechanical Engineering). Employed as Senior Methods Engineer, Pratt & Whitney assembly floor in Middletown.
    and Nate Harris of New Britain (’00 B.S. Computer Science). Employed as Web Hosting Availability Manager, IBM Global Services.
  • Student Recruitment Committee: Mark Lescher of Simsbury (’75 B.S. Management, ’76 M.B.A.). He is the owner of Kimsco, LLC in Bloomfield.
  • Communications Committee: Vanessa Dudack of West Hartford (’00 B.S. Environmental Engineering). Employed as Project Engineer, Malcolm Pirnie, Inc.

The President of the RAA is Leland B. Bishop II (’60 B.S. Mechanical Engineering, ’80 M.S. Management), who attended the Troy campus to earn an undergraduate degree and the Hartford campus to earn a graduate degree.

Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute boasts more than 85,000 living alumni of whom 13,000 (15.2 percent) have graduated from Rensselaer at Hartford. In addition, Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute has 11,000 alumni living in Connecticut, of whom 5,800 have graduated from Rensselaer at Hartford.
