Rensselaer at Hartford to Launch Morning Lecture Series on IT

Rensselaer at Hartford’s Professional Development Programs (PDP) will begin a new lecture series in 2004 called, "IT’s Only Breakfast." The lectures will be brief, fast paced, informative, and will cover key areas of interest to the Information Technology (IT) community. Rensselaer faculty will bring their insight to sessions covering diverse areas of importance to the IT world. The talks will provide an opportunity to learn about new trends and technologies, look into the future of IT, and network with other professionals.

DATES AND TIMES: Scheduled topics (with more details and additional sessions to be announced) for the series that will run Friday mornings from 8 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. include:

  • January 16, 2004 – Why IT DOES Matter
  • March 19, 2004 – The Semantic Web: Advantages and Roadblocks to Adoption
  • May 21, 2004 – Avoiding the Scapegoat Trap: Managing IT/Line Organization
    Conflict During Strategic Change Efforts

LOCATION: All of the seminars will be held at Rensselaer at Hartford, 275 Windsor Street, Hartford, Connecticut. For directions, please click HERE.

ADMISSION: Registration is required and open to all interested participants. The cost of each lecture will be $25 and includes full breakfast and free on-site parking.

RENSSELAER’S PDP AND COMPUTER SCIENCE/IT PROGRAM OPTIONS: Professional Development Programs (PDP) are all of the noncredit educational and training offerings of Rensselaer. The programs are designed to address the challenges an individual faces in the workplace or in organizational advancement. Programs are offered in the areas of Computer and Information Technology, Technical and Professional Development, and Leadership and Executive Development. PDP’s computer information technology programs focus on a broad range of IT subjects and development areas.
