Events Rensselaer at Hartfords Computer Science Seminar Series Presents, "Agent-Oriented Methodologies" EVENT: Brian Henderson-Sellers, D.Sc., Director of the Centre for Object Technology Applications and Research, and Professor of Information Systems at the University of Technology, Sydney, will present a seminar titled, "Agent-Oriented Methodologies A Framework for Future Collaboration." The presentation is part of Rensselaer at Hartfords Computer Science Seminar Series. DATE: Friday, October 17, 2003 TIME: 6 p.m. LOCATION: Seminar Hall, Rensselaer at Hartford, 275 Windsor Street, Hartford. Click HERE for directions. ADMISSION: FREE! Open to the public. All are welcome to attend. TOPIC DISCUSSION: The OPEN Process Framework (OPF) consists of a full metamodeling underpinning a set of process components stored in a repository. Individual selections are then made from that repository in order to create a personalized process for software development by use of method engineering techniques. Originally targeted at object technology, the OPF has been recently extended to support agent-oriented information systems. We find that although much work has to be done to deal with autonomous components, the scope of the OPEN Process Framework is adequate to absorb this new work. Furthermore, there has been no need to perturb the existing Framework in accommodating these new ideas. Here we explore the possible future of agent-oriented methodological thinking, based around the OPF. ABOUT THE SPEAKER: Brian Henderson-Sellers is the author of eleven books on object technology and is well known for his work in object-oriented methodologies (MOSES, COMMA, OPEN, OOSPICE) and in OO metrics. He is currently on the editorial board of both Journal of Object Technology and Software and Systems Modelling. Professor Henderson-Sellers was the Founder of the NSW Object-Oriented SIG of the Australian Computer Society. He is currently a member of the Review Panel for the OMG's Software Process Engineering Model (SPEM) and of the UML 2.0 review team.
