Connecticut Quality Council Presents Quality Symposium EVENT: The Connecticut Quality Council (CQC) at Rensselaer at Hartford is offering the 2003 Quality Symposium. This full-day program includes morning and afternoon keynote speakers plus sixteen breakout session options. The symposium theme is "Navigate a Course to Total Quality" and is recommended for all manufacturing, service, government, education, healthcare, and non-profit professionals interested in teamwork and employee involvement, process approach and development, customer focus, and continuous improvement. DATE: Tuesday, October 28, 2003 TIME: 8 a.m. 5 p.m. LOCATION: Rensselaer at Hartford, 275 Windsor Street, Hartford, Connecticut. Click HERE for directions. ADMISSION: Registration is required and open to all interested participants. Special rates apply for CQC member companies. KEYNOTE SPEAKERS: The morning keynote address will be on "Bio-Terrorism Preparedness" by Dr. Lenworth M. Jacobs, MD, MPH, FACS, Hartford Hospital. Dr. Jacobs notes that, "The best way to avoid being terrorized is to be well-educated as to what bio-hazards are and to recognize that there are successful treatment strategies. It is through knowledge and practice that the public will be fully prepared to deal with these events." The afternoon keynote address will be delivered by Mr. Jan De Witte of GE Medical Systems, who will discuss "GEs Six Sigma Journey." Learn how Six Sigma has evolved at GE over the last eight years. Explore the conditions needed for a successful implementation and gain some insight into where Six Sigma is headed in the future at General Electric. BREAKOUT SESSIONS AND MORE: Four one-hour breakout sessions offering 4 concurrent sessions, will provide sixteen topic options. In addition, the Member Exhibit Hall will be open from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. to meet CQC member companies and to network.
