Newsmakers Lynn LaChance Appointed Executive Director, Connecticut Quality Council, Rensselaer at Hartford HARTFORD, CONN Lynn LaChance, of Ellington, has been appointed Executive Director, Connecticut Quality Council (CQC), located at Rensselaer at Hartford. The CQC Board of Governors approved the motion for the appointment, after LaChance had been serving as Acting Manager of CQC since March 2003. CQC is associated with the Professional Development Programs organization at Rensselaer at Hartford. LaChance received a B.S. in Finance from the University of Connecticut and an M.S. in Computer Science, concentration in Information Systems, from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute at the Hartford campus. She has over ten years of experience in the financial services and insurance industries and ran her own small business for approximately three years prior to joining Rensselaer. LaChance most recently worked at Rensselaer for the past four years as Manager, Computer Information Technology, Rensselaer Learning Institute. CQC is a private, nonprofit coalition of business, government, education, and labor that promotes the philosophy and principles of Total Quality and Continuous Improvement as a sound business operating strategy for all organizations. In the Fall of 1990, Rensselaer at Hartford joined with twenty-seven business leaders in the founding of CQC. In the Spring of 2003, the CQC Board of Governors voted to maintain their affiliation and partnership with Rensselaer. Membership in CQC is organizational rather than individual in recognition of the need to involve the entire organizationpeople, culture, changein the effort to focus on continuous improvement in services, processes, and/or products that satisfy customer needs. CQC has become a respected and valued resource for high-caliber, low-cost Total Quality education and training (both experiential and traditional) as well as for professional networking and information sharing with fellow practitioners. Rensselaer and CQC strive to work for a fully developed coalition of business, government, labor, education, and community.
