For that final piece of information that sets your project apart or for difficult to locate information, consider contacting a company, government agency, association or special interest group.

Company Contacts

Obtain company contacts from resources that provide basic company information. Take a look at our Company & Industry Research Subject Guide for a list of such resources.

Useful company contacts can often be found on a company's own web site. See Locating a Company on the World Wide Web for guidance.

Government Contacts

Federal Government agencies are listed in the United States Government Manual. For state agencies, visit the State of Connecticut site, or use the Connecticut State Register and Manual.

Trade, Industry and Professional Associations

See our guide to Finding a Trade, Industry or Professional Association for assistance.

Listservs

Sign up for a Listserv or mailing list. Use CataList or Topica to locate a list of interest to you. It is always a good idea to "lurk" (read messages and get a feeling for the types of issues permitted for discussion) for a little while before posting questions or comments to the group.

Experts

Engineering Village provides reference services from senior engineers in a variety of fields. You will need your Rensselaer at Hartford login ID and password to access this database.
