Videoconferencing Facilities
Videoconferencing can greatly reduce the amount of time away
from work, and the travel cost and inconvenience required
to attend long-distance meetings. National and international
meetings are held at Rensselaer at Hartford using videoconferencing
systems including interviews, training presentations, meetings
and legal depositions. Rensselaer at Hartford's production
staff will work with you to custom-design and produce your
videoconference activity using our videoconferencing facilities
which can accommodate between 1 to 100 people.
Videoconferencing Fees from 9 am –
5 pm:
- For 1 – 32 people = $165.00/hour
room rental plus
- For 32 - 100 people = Room Fee 1/2 day
$495.00; or full day $825.00 plus SH Video Conference
Fee @ $303.00/hour plus
- $60.00/hour Network for 384 Kbps ISDN

- additional $40.00/hour fee for hours
before 9 am and after 5 pm

Studio / Video Classroom
Our Production team can capture events of all sizes through
a broad range of coverage options, from a single camera shot
"talking-head" lecture to a multi-camera interactive
panel discussions. Producers work with you to develop a complete
video program, from conceptualization and scripting through
production, editing, and distribution.
Depending on client needs and applicability,
Distributed Education delivers finished products in a variety of formats such
as VHS, CD or DVD. A video classroom, seats between 20 to
32 participants, contains an instructor podium which is equipped
with: Preview monitors Document Camera Studio computer with
Sympodium interface Personal computer connection to the internet
Podium and wireless microphones The control rooms for these
video classrooms are run by a Distributed Education producer who will switch
the program’s video sources: VHS source deck Control
room computer with connection to internet 1 participant camera
and 2 instructor cameras Off site video conference participants
And all instructor podium video feeds.
Studio / Video Classroom Fees from 9 am –
5 pm:
- For recording a class of 1 – 32
people = $220.00/hour room rental
- For recording a class of 32 - 100 people
= 1/2 day $495.00; or full day
$825.00 plus $303.00/hour
Production staff
- For transmitting a class of 1 –

$60.00/hour

Satellite Downlinks
Satellite Downlink refers to an event were the providers broadcast
a signal to a satellite in space and DEM tunes our steerable
satellite dish to receive that signal. DEM then re-broadcasts
the downlinked signal over one of the channels on our cable
television network, providing access to the video event to
viewers on the Hartford campus. DEM is able to accommodate
both C- and Ku-band downlinks.
Satellite Downlink Fees from 9 am –
5 pm:
- For up to 30 people = $352.00 full day,
or $231.00 ½ day
- For up to 50 people = $715.00 full day,
or $429.00 ½ day
- For up to 100 people = $990.00 full day,
or $594.00 ½ day

and Limit of Liability
DEM reserves the right to refuse any order it deems to be
in violation of the copyright laws of the United States. Reproductions
of copyrighted work will not be made unless evidence of permission
to do so is presented. Submitting any film, video tape, audio
tape, CD, DVD, slide, negative, publication, art for processing,
reproduction or duplication of any kind constitutes an AGREEMENT
by you that any damages or loss due to negligence or other
fault by Media Services will only entitle you to replacement
of like amount of unexposed film, tape or disc. Except for
such replacement the acceptance by DEM of any film, video
tape, audio tape, CD, DVD, slide, negative, publication, art
for reproduction of any kind is without other warranty or
liability, and recovery for any incidental or consequential
damages is excluded.
